HERNIATED DISC
Maria Marik's prescription medication, Vicodin, wasn't helping her with the pain from a herniated disc. According to her husband, she stayed in bed all the time and had no energy or desire to move.
Her mother-in-law, a patient of Dr. Hoang's, suggested that she try accupuncture.

IMPROVED SPEECH AFTER STROKE
Rebecca was 35 when she had her stroke. For a while, she improved with a speech pathologist and hours of hard work. After a while, she got out of the habit of trying, and her speech got worse.

It took 27 treatments for the 51-year-old, and according to her husband Randy, her speech has improved and she speaks (whispers) more clearly now. ALLERGIES, CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME
I was tested and diagnosed by a neurologist to have serious CTS in both hands, and told that I might need surgery. I also suffered from allergies all year - not just at certain times.
I had never had acupuncture before, but I knew that I would do anything to avoid surgery. I also took B6 (50mg) daily and wore splints on both hands.

PREPARATION FOR AND RECOVERY FROM SURGERY
As a regular patient of Dr. Hoang, I have heard him say that it is a good idea to come in for acupuncture before having surgery. Before having surgery on May 1, I received an acupuncture treatment with the idea of being as well prepared as possible for dealing with the effects of general anesthesia and the healing process.
Starting soon after surgery, I also came to Dr. Hoang for help in recovering. Acupuncture treatments immediately began reducing the edema and speeding the healing process. After three weeks, not only is all the swelling gone, but so is all soreness.
With the help of Dr. Hoang, in less than one month after surgery, I have reached the point my surgeon expected me to reach in two months' time.
I would strongly recommend acupuncture to anyone facing surgery.
